Salary: $3,266 to $4,139 per month (SR-08, Steps C to I).

Position located in Kalaupapa Settlement, Kalawao County, Island of Molokai. Kalaupapa is a closed community on the north shore of Molokai, surrounded by the ocean on three sides and 2,000‑foot cliffs on the fourth side. Access is by a small 5–8 passenger commuter airplane, by foot, or mule down a 26‑switchback trail. Ocean access is limited to a few months in summer.
The Settlement includes a care home, grocery store, gas station, airport, motor pool, carpenter shop, landfill, State library, U.S. Post Office and over 150 homes and buildings many on the historic building registry.
Perform journey level clerical work involving a variety of complex clerical assignments. Responsibilities include handling tasks that involve multiple steps or processes, reference to different sources, and the use of judgment to determine appropriate disposition, prioritizing work and carrying out assignments independently and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Supervise and participate in performing moderately complex clerical work, as well as perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Basic
Experience:
Six months of work experience demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic; the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. - Clerical
Experience:
One (1) year of work experience that involved performance of a variety of clerical tasks, demonstrating knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems, and operate various kinds of office equipment and technologies. - Supervisory Experience and/or Aptitude: Possession of supervisory experience or aptitude is required for some positions. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments involving some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision.
