Location: East Honolulu
Operations Specialist (2-Year Defined Term) – Employee Type:
Defined Term (Fixed Term). The position is located at Kamehameha Schools – Hawaii Campus.
This role supports the Halau Kupukupu (R&D Team) by managing operational functions across budgeting, procurement, reporting, customer service, and community engagement.
Responsibilities- Project Management – Serve on project teams to ensure smooth communication, scheduling, and adherence to deadlines. Advocate to leadership and train with subject matter experts to support project execution.
- Community Resource – Lead front‑line communication with community stakeholders, support events and workshops, manage registration processes, and respond to inquiries from parents, learners, and community organizations.
- Fiscal Duties – Prepare, review, and monitor division‑wide project budgets; produce monthly and quarterly variance reports; assist with reconciliation of project expenses; administer contracts and manage vendor invoices.
- Operations Support – Lead key division systems and processes, develop and maintain document repositories, facilitate communication among staff, and manage office administrative functions.
- Other Duties – Provide clerical support such as scheduling meetings, drafting memos and correspondence, maintaining records, and reviewing draft communications for stakeholders.
- Education & Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; minimum 2 years of directly related work experience.
- Skills – Organizational, coordination, fiscal, and customer‑service skills; ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing environments.
- Technical Proficiency – Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or Google applications.
- Communication & Interpersonal – Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and customer‑focused approach; ability to manage confidential information.
- Other – Ability to work independently and in teams, adapt work style, maintain relationships with island communities, and handle project oversight.
- Frequent desk‑based tasks, light lifting up to 10 lb, occasional standing, walking, and writing by hand.
- Work typically Monday–Friday in normal business hours; evening and weekend hours often required.
Work Year: 12 Pay Range: $59,900.00 – $82,100.00 annual. Benefits include medical, 401(k), and time‑off comparable to full‑time regular positions.
