Duties SummaryPerform senior level clerical work involving a wide range of clerical functions, originating and planning work when needed, and handling highly complex clerical or administrative tasks. Requires evaluating information for conformance, interpreting laws, rules and regulations, and using judgment in situations not covered by standard instructions. Positions at this level are performed independently with substantial discretion and may include supervisory or participatory duties comparable to an Office Assistant III.
MinimumQualification Requirements

:
All applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. - Basic Experience
:
Six months of work experience demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic; the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. - Clerical Experience
:
Two years of work experience involving a variety of clerical tasks, knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems and operate various office equipment and technologies. - Selective Certification Requirement
:
One year of demonstrated knowledge of the court system and/or court proceedings; familiarity with documents related to court proceedings such as police reports, warrants, bail/bond, court orders; and arithmetic computation accuracy. - Supervisory Experience or Aptitude
:
For some positions, possession of supervisory experience or aptitude is required. Supervisory aptitude is demonstrated through successful completion of assignments with supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision. - Keyboarding/Computer Skill
:
Some positions may require keyboarding proficiency of 40 net words per minute and the ability to use computers and word processing software. - Background Screening
:
Applicants will be subject to a drug screening and an intensive background check.
As required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003, the agency does not hire or promote anyone who:
- Has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, or other institution.
- Has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
- Has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in #2 above.
- Has been the subject of substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment or resigned during a pending investigation of alleged sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
Applicants who are conditionally offered employment or conditionally approved for movement into any of these positions shall be subject to drug screening and a background check.
