Protestant Administrative Religious Education Coordinator

CA&M Inc. is seeking a Protestant Administrative Religious Education Coordinator to support the U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii Chaplain's Religious Support Program. This role provides administrative and programmatic support for Protestant religious education activities across multiple USAG Hawaii chapel facilities, working in close coordination with the Religious Support Office (RSO) Chaplain, Director of Religious Education, and CA&M.

This is a non-personal services position with a variable schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and select holidays based on the program calendar. Work is performed at chapel facilities across Schofield Barracks, Aliamanu Military Reservation, Fort DeRussy, and Helemano Military Reservation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly, monthly, and ad hoc planning meetings to coordinate Protestant religious education programs and maintain collaborative relationships with Protestant worshipping communities and pastoral staff
  • Develop and submit monthly Protestant Religious Education calendars covering regular and seasonal events, community activities, holiday closures, and special holy days
  • Execute Protestant RE programs at assigned chapels, including preparing facility reservation forms, designing publicity flyers, tracking weekly attendance, and conducting classes during regular (August–May) and seasonal periods (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, VBS, and RE Kickoff)
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute curriculum materials and supplies for weekly programs; reset classrooms and learning spaces after each session
  • Serve in a functional leadership role for Vacation Bible School and support the Community Resiliency Expo, including resource preparation and management of consumable materials
  • Coordinate and publicize Protestant community events such as Family Night, community BBQs, and other public-facing gatherings
  • Support deployment readiness efforts by collecting documentation from chapel community leaders and assisting with flyer development and RSO material dissemination
  • Provide administrative support for Background Check Rodeo events, including pre-registration, document review, tracking, and coordination with fingerprint administrators
  • Submit required reports and deliverables on schedule, including attendance reports, consumed materials reports, and program documentation
Qualifications

Required:

  • Formal training and demonstrated understanding of Protestant Christian education concepts and theories
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce emails, meeting minutes, bulletins, flyers, and marketing materials
  • Fluency in English with excellent comprehension
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Windows-based operating systems
  • Professional demeanor suited to a pluralistic military environment with the ability to interact respectfully with individuals of diverse faith backgrounds
  • Must pass a Tier 1 with State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) background check (government-initiated and funded)

Preferred:

  • Experience in military religious support programs or DoD chapel environments
  • Familiarity with Army Regulation 165-1 and military installation protocols
  • Experience coordinating volunteer-driven faith-based education programs and community events
Additional Information

Government-mandated training (Anti-Terrorism, OPSEC, iWATCH, Cyber Awareness, PII, and Child Protection) must be completed within 30–45 days of contract start and refreshed annually as required. All contractor personnel must wear company identification badges and clearly identify themselves as contractor employees at all times.
