Position: PRE AUDIT CLERK I AND II - OAHU (OHHI)

Job Title

Pre Audit Clerk I and II (Pre‑Audit) – Salary: $3,606–$4,563 per month (Pre‑Audit Clerk I, SR‑11, Step C–I) / $3,900–$4,933 per month (Pre‑Audit Clerk II, SR‑13, Step C–I)

Duties Summary
  • Examine and verify payrolls and summary warrant vouchers for accuracy and compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Verify the prices of contractual items and receipts of goods or services.
  • Receive and deposit monies received by the department.
  • Perform clerical pre‑auditing work under regulations, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • For Level I: complete full range of clerical pre‑auditing duties and related tasks.
  • For Level II: examine vouchered claims and payroll claims for propriety, compliance with statutes, policies, and regulations; supervise and participate in clerical pre‑auditing work; perform other related duties.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Legal Authorization to Work
    : U.S. citizenship, national or permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
  • Specialized Experience (Level I & II):
    Two years responsible clerical experience in preparing and processing payroll documents/forms and/or vouchers, invoices, and statements; demonstrated knowledge of arithmetic and ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions; communicate orally and in writing.
  • Pre‑Audit Experience (Level II):
    One year progressively responsible experience involving examination and verification of payroll documents, invoices, vouchers, statements, and other requests for payment for completeness, accuracy, legality, and propriety.
