Hawai'i faces challenges as climate variability and change impact resources, ecological sustainability, economic vitality and human health in the islands. Natural resource managers, emergency managers, policy makers, ranchers, agriculture producers, and the community rely on high-quality climate data products and information to build capacity, raise awareness, and support informed decisions.

The Hawai'i Mesonet includes 76 stations (planning for 100+ statewide) with 5-minute data for 21 variables. HCDP produces daily high-resolution maps and offers an API for near-real-time decision support tools. The portal also hosts tools, resources, and information about Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK).

Working with a team of researchers, this position will serve as the key liaison with expertise in data translation and technical capacity for stakeholder use of the Hawai'i Mesonet and HCDP in climate adaptation.
