Overview
This role aligns to industry-level titles such as Proposal or Bid Writer
. As part of the proposals team, the Proposal Writer works closely with Sales, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and key staff to develop and deliver high-quality, compelling proposals in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The primary focus is text creation, revision, and maintenance, while supporting the entire proposal lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the Proposal Analyst and SMEs to identify and gather relevant text from prior responses.
- Read the RFP and related documents in detail, including materials from the Sales lead on win themes, strategies, and differentiators.
- Attend proposal kick-off and status meetings.
- Populate and customize proposal text owned by the proposals team as needed for each proposal.
- Review SME text for adherence to the style guide; provide feedback and suggested edits.
- Track requirement gaps and outstanding text deliverables.
- Incorporate edits from SMEs and the Sales lead, proofread, and revise text during each text review cycle.
- Complete final editing and formatting of text.
- Deliver error‑free files for proposal production.
- Support proposal production tasks as needed.
- Support BAFO requests as applicable.
- Write and improve assigned proposal boilerplate text, incorporating SMEs’ updates through bid process and boilerplate review meetings.
- Maintain and update graphics as needed for boilerplate and proposals.
- BA or BS, preferably in English, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience in proposal writing or related writing roles.
- Experience in the education or assessment industry is preferred.
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently while staying responsive to the team.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Exceptional project management, planning, and time management skills.
- Assertive yet diplomatic communication style.
The minimum full‑time salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $65,000. This role is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
