Responsibilities
- Seat full‑time at the client’s office supporting local transit initiatives.
- Manage the local rail program’s construction claims program under the supervision of the Director of Construction Claims, Utility and Third Party.
- Oversee claims avoidance, identification of potential claims, intake, evaluation strategy, documentation monitoring, mitigations, resolution, and litigation.
- Advise the client’s project management team regarding claims prevention, defense, and resolution.
- Draft correspondence and other documents to support the client’s claims position with respect to claims asserted either by the contractor or client.
- Manage construction management contracts for escalated issues, including cost and schedule analysis, in‑depth review of cost items, and preparation for mediation or court proceedings.
- Interface with experts to assist with complex technical issues, including schedule program delays, economic damages, and time impact.
- Oversee and manage claims submitted to alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Assist the Contracting Officer with requests for a final written determination and other claims support.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Efficient use of the internet and other electronic and hard copy media for research.
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Visio skills.
- Expert Microsoft Access and Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary‑level information.
- Ability to obtain, cleanse, merge and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow‑up skills.
- Self‑starter with a proven track record of accomplishments.
- Commitment to being an active participant in an employee‑owned culture.
Compensation: $112,529 – $184,868 (Honolulu, HI) – depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location.
