On Call Emergency Management Specialist, Response

WSP is currently initiating a search for On Call Emergency Management Specialist, Response to work out of Honolulu, HI
. Emergency management cadre positions are on‑call and assignments are on an as‑needed basis
. Cadre members are not eligible for benefits.

Cadre members are asked for a 30‑day commitment; availability to deploy with little to no advance notice (typically within 24‑48 hours); and during deployments, ability to potentially work 8‑12 hours/day, 7 days/week.

• Support Emergency Management team in servicing clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in U.S. territories.
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post‑disaster.
• Perform a variety of duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions.
• Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment eligibility.
• Support Emergency Management Project Management functions.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

• HS Diploma.
• 7+ years experience, including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related), or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study – Professional Development Series certification.
• Travel required – must be able to deploy to a disaster area with little or no advance notice and for long durations up to a minimum of 30 days.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Emergency Management (or related field).
• Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience.
• Previous experience working at Field Staging Areas or state Emergency Operations Center or related environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including use of formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting tools.

Expected Salary (all locations): $30–$35/hour.
