The Inflight Safety Reporting Data Analyst is responsible for developing solutions to Inflight safety data at Alaska Airlines (AS). As an individual contributor, they are responsible for analysis, presentation, and quality control of Inflight safety data in support of our Safety Management System (SMS) processes
Key Duties- Takes initiative to develop solutions to complex problems related to the collection, organization, analysis, and visualization of Flight Attendant safety data, ensuring insights are actionable and support operational decision-making.
- Makes recommendations on team processes for managing data collection, categorization, analysis, and reporting to effectively monitor performance, identify trends, and enhance Inflight safety reporting outcomes.
- Applies data analytics methodologies and industry safety management concepts (e.g., Safety Management Systems, data governance, and KPI tracking) to evaluate safety performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- With limited direction from manager, work independently to ensure quality assurance of SCOUT Inflight safety reporting, validating accuracy, completeness, and appropriate risk classification of reported safety events.
- Partners cross-functionally with Inflight SMS Liaisons and Compliance teams to analyze SRA monitoring plan performance, identify gaps, and support enhancements to safety risk mitigation strategies.
- Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to track key safety indicators, communicate insights to stakeholders, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Serves as a Management flyer as needed to support Inflight operational performance and maintain connection to frontline safety practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
- 2 years of experience in data analysis, descriptive statistics, or related area.
- Bachelor's degree or an additional 2 years of training/experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with cross-divisional teams.
- Knowledge of FAA regulatory oversight processes.
- Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
- Must be able to clear the pre-employment DOT testing & background check process.
- Ability to complete Alaska Airlines' initial training/IOE, hold FAA flight attendant certificate, and remain qualified through recurrent training.
- Ability and willingness to fly as a crew member as needed, including during irregular operations, and inclement weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- SMS training.
- Experience presenting and speaking to Flight Attendant safety data.
- Prior experience as a Flight Attendant.

Salary Range$71,150 -- $117,450 / year
Pay DetailsThis opportunity is eligible to be based in either our Renton, WA office or our Honolulu, HI location. Please review the compensation details associated with each location below:
Honolulu Geo 1 payband: $71,150 - $106,750
Seattle Geo 2 payband: $78,300 - $117,450
