This vacancy is with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The starting monthly salary is at the minimum rate of pay advertised above. This recruitment may be closed at any time. Responsibilities

Management and operation of a farm program, directly supervising crew leaders and farm laborers performing various farming activities; maintaining records and preparing reports; ensuring proper operation and maintenance of farm equipment; performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Legal Authorization to Work
    :
    Citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, eligible for unrestricted employment.
  • Basic Requirement
    :
    Experience, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written and oral directions; effective oral and written communication.
  • General Experience
    • Three (3) years of responsible farm work experience in one or a combination of: plant/crop production experience, or livestock and/or poultry care and management experience.
  • Supervisory Experience
    :
    Two (2) years of supervisory work experience, including planning, organizing, scheduling, directing work; assigning and reviewing work; advising on work problems; training and developing subordinates; evaluating performance.
  • Substitution of Education for General Experience
    • Study at an accredited university, community college, junior college, or vocational/technical school in agriculture may substitute up to two (2) years of general experience based on specified coursework.
    • Successful completion of an accredited agricultural curriculum may substitute on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years of general experience.
    • Completion of a farm practicum may substitute six (6) months of general experience.
  • Other Requirements
    • Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) requirements as specified by federal law.
  • Driver's License
    : A valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF):
    Eligibility for the federal PSLF program may apply to this position.
