Estimator​/Planner

Pacific Shipyards International (PSI) seeks an Estimator / Planner to join our ship repair team in Hawaii. This role reports to the Director of Estimating and is responsible for developing cost estimates to support ongoing ship repair contracts with the Department of Defense and commercial customers. The Estimator / Planner works closely with all departments to identify the material and manpower required for ship repair operations and thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

PSI is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, operating from two of the state’s largest dry docks. With a history dating back to 1944, our crew of skilled craftsman and support professionals includes engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and technical proposals
• Read detailed drawings, specifications, and technical manuals
• Engage in PSI’s collaborative estimating process and bid reviews
• Attend ship checks
• Participate in business development
• Act as a strong team player with on‑site work hours required

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience, preferably in marine or industrial industry
• Shipyard experience preferred
• High school diploma required;
  Bachelor of Science highly recommended
• Knowledge of Navy ships is beneficial
• Former Navy military personnel highly beneficial

• Must show proof of legal right to work in the United States
• Position requires U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain a TWIC and a DBIDS credential
• Pass a post‑offer drug screening and background check
• Valid State of Hawaii REAL ‑Compliant driver’s license or U.S. passport plus a valid Hawaii driver’s license, if not already holding a REAL  3 or higher
• Access to reliable transportation

$70,000‑$130,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.
