Position: TRAVEL SUPPORT AND PROGRAM SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will facilitate the safe travel of all staff world-wide, and foreign invited attendees to our courses/ events as well as invited adjunct faculty or guest speakers.
* You will coordinate the safe travel of entry to international countries around the world and working with U.S. Embassies around the world for scheduled overseas events.
* You will provide guidance to help define the criteria for all travel and pay support, and assist in defining objectives, priorities, organization, and making decisions for the executing events.
* You will serve as a Reviewing Official for all Temporary duty orders (TDY) and all travel settlement, whether in the Defense Travel System (DTS) or on paper DD 1351-2 travel claims for all funded attendees and guest speakers.
* You will make flights, lodging, and rental car reservations, processing orders via the Defense Travel System (DTS).
* You will review and confirm reservations/itineraries for arrival reports and identifies any VIPs as well as those who may have special needs.
* You will counsel, instruct, and assist members of the Department of Defense island-wide and their families needing to file an application for issuance, renewal, amendment or extensions of U.S. Tourist and Official passports.
* You will review documents for accuracy and validity and review primary citizenship evidence such as birth certificates, naturalization certificates, citizenship certificates, and/or expired passport originally issued to the applicant.
* You will be accountable for DKI APCSS personnel official passports ensuring safeguards are in effect to protect this Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
* You will receive and account for passports and coordinate with U.S. Embassies and passport agencies for the issuance of all required official travel documents including Visa and any other required travel documentation.
* You will be responsible for all related travel of attendees and the proper computation and payments to all foreign and US participants attending the Centers events, either in Hawaii or around the world.
* You will return unused cash to the U.S. Embassy for deposit back to the Treasury, or unused cash is brought back to the U.S. and deposited in a local bank using the Department of Treasury Over-The-Counter network (OTCnet).
* You will review and assist the traveler in submitting a travel voucher within five workdays after the travel ends. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid State of Hawaii driver's license.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain certification as an Official Department of Defense Passport Agent.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport and be willing to travel internationally (via military or commercial aircraft) at times to non-developed nations.
* Must be able to work outside normal and pre-determined work schedule to accomplish mission requirements. Qualifications GS-9:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Processing passports, visas, travel orders, and assisting with travel arrangements;
2) Resolving administrative issues such as financial matters, travel changes, lost luggage, support of emergency family's situation, and/or the early return; and
3) Using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access to create and maintain written correspondence which include travel documents and reports. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
