Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Financial Health Data Analyst I to provide financial management, analysis, and reporting support for government and commercial programs, health plans, and provider contracts of our client. This role focuses on contract compliance, financial stewardship, benefit cost management, reimbursement strategies, data quality, and process improvement. The successful candidate will analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and cost-reduction opportunities, support provider and program initiatives, and develop meaningful reports for management.
The position operates with moderate management direction and oversight.
- Bachelor's degree and three years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Analyze, recommend, and monitor reimbursement and provider strategies.
- Prepare reports measuring the effectiveness of reimbursement and contracting terms and their impact on program costs and utilization.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Monitor market trends and identify emerging business opportunities and risks.
- Monitor private and government websites for reimbursement and policy changes and recommend appropriate implementation.
- Analyze standard plan, provider, financial, and operational reports in response to customer and business requirements.
- Develop functional summary reports and presentations for management.
- Facilitate the definition of data and information requirements.
- Establish efficient methods for assembling and maintaining data.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for reference and audit purposes.
- Validate and maintain the quality, accuracy, and consistency of data and reporting.
- Proactively identify potential data or process issues.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to develop and implement solutions.
- Develop and communicate data adjustments, workarounds, and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall business value.
- Help transform existing processes and policies to make them more effective and efficient.
- Participate in annual reviews of compliance workflows, including SSAE and MAR.
- Review provider contracts and verify that claims system configurations accurately reflect fully executed agreements.
- Support contract compliance and financial stewardship initiatives.
- Participate in and promote team activities.
- Provide leadership, consultation, and subject-matter expertise on projects.
- Share accountability and knowledge across the team.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide constructive feedback.
- Support initiatives that improve workflow integrity and operational effectiveness.
