My client is leading one of the largest and most technically complex infrastructure projects in Hawai‘i’s history — a multi-billion-dollar dry dock replacement at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. This long-term federal program expands the Navy’s maintenance capacity and directly supports national defense readiness in the Pacific.

About the RoleThe Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations across marine, utilities, and heavy civil scopes
, including structural concrete, steel, deep foundations, earthwork, underground utilities, and waterfront structures. This role requires strong field leadership, rigorous safety adherence, and the ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and crews in a high-stakes federal environment.
You will be a key on-site leader—setting expectations, supporting project planning, managing productivity, and ensuring all work meets EM 385-1-1, environmental, and federal compliance standards

- Lead, train, and supervise field crews and subcontractors across marine, utility, and heavy civil scopes.
- Oversee daily site operations with strict focus on safety, compliance, and environmental protection.
- Plan and sequence work to maintain production rates and meet critical path schedule milestones.
- Partner with Project Managers and Engineers to resolve field issues and maintain quality.
- Manage labor, equipment, materials, logistics, and site utilization for efficient operations.
- Track quantities, production rates, equipment usage, and cost variances; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor proper handling of materials, formwork, heavy equipment, and marine construction tools.
- Maintain strong communication with government representatives, inspectors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Support project documentation including daily reports, QC records, permitting compliance, and closeout deliverables.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, communication, and teamwork on site.
- Serve as a hands-on leader in the field
, setting the standard for safety, productivity, and professionalism. - Anticipate sequencing, logistical, and compliance challenges—and provide timely, practical solutions.
- Build trust with crews, subcontractors, and federal partners through consistency and clear communication.
- Maintain high-quality documentation and uphold all EM 385-1-1 and federal requirements.
- Must be eligible for base access and able to work on secure federal sites.
- 10+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years as a Superintendent on heavy civil, marine, or utilities projects.
- Experience with dry docks, piers, wharfs, cofferdams, or federal/military construction strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of EM 385-1-1, hazard identification, and three-phase QC processes.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and marine drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office;
Primavera P6 or MS Project experience preferred. - Proven leadership skills with ability to manage diverse crews in challenging environments.
