Position Summary

The Project Engineer supports both the project management and field supervision teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role is designed for early/mid career professionals seeking hands‑on experience in field operations, project controls, and overall construction management across projects ranging from small to large scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Project Engineer assists Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, and coordination and reviews contract documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and constructability.
  • This role is responsible for preparing, tracking, and managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals, as well as maintaining project documentation, logs, and meeting minutes.
  • The Project Engineer assists with quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and change order documentation and supports project closeout activities, including punch lists and turnover packages.
  • The position works closely with Superintendents to support daily field operations and assists with layout, field measurements, and verification of installed work. Responsibilities also include coordinating subcontractor activities and material deliveries.
  • The Project Engineer observes work progress to ensure alignment with plans, specifications, and project schedules, promotes jobsite safety, and assists with safety compliance and documentation. The role requires identifying potential issues and communicating them effectively to the project team.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate has zero to five years of experience in construction, engineering, or related operations and demonstrates the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with construction software is a plus.
  • The candidate must be able to work in both office settings and active construction site environments.

This is a Permanent position based out of Honolulu, HI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $90,000.00/yr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Honolulu, HI.
