Immediate vacancy with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
Salary: $6,090 to $6,704 per month (SR‑19, Step C to I). Salary includes Shortage Category Differential.
Job DescriptionThese positions inspect and measure construction materials used, and check methods employed in the construction at hand; inspect the erection of false work and concrete forms used; accept or reject concrete forms, construction equipment and materials based on specifications or modifications approved by a higher‑level inspector; keep detailed records of work completed and materials used; prepare and submit routine inspection reports as directed;
prepare monthly progress reports concerning the construction project; and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:
Must be a citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. - Basic Experience/
Education:
Work experience involving reading and understanding oral and written instructions, writing simply and directly, and performing arithmetic computations. - General
Experience:
Two (2) years of Journey level experience in the building construction trades, demonstrating knowledge of building construction methods and materials, safety requirements, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches. - Specialized
Experience:
One (1) year of either Building construction inspection work experience or supervisory work experience over a force of skilled trades workers in the building construction industry that involved interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting the quality of workmanship and materials. - Driver’s License:
Valid driver’s license required for the immediate vacancy. - Lift and Carry:
Ability to lift and/or carry objects of varying weights with or without reasonable accommodation. - Federal Criminal History Records Check:
