Role Summary
Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii is seeking a Construction Superintendent, Site to manage all phases of site construction to complete work in accordance with the company's overall construction schedule. This includes collaboration with other functional departments and consultant teams, including but not limited to engineers and contractors, federal, state, and city agencies, and utility companies.
Responsibilities- Oversee all phases of site construction to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and to quality standards.
- Manage bidding, contractor selection, negotiation, and contract administration for site construction projects.
- Coordinate with project management, vertical construction, sales, customer service, accounting, utility providers, consultants, and public agencies.
- Conduct field inspections to monitor progress, verify compliance with plans and specifications, and support a safe jobsite environment.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, track milestones, and proactively address delays or field issues.
- Manage contractor performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Support project turnover to the homebuilding team and assist with site-related customer service or warranty matters as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of site construction experience involving roadways, utilities, and site improvements for single-family or low-rise multifamily residential developments. Equivalent combinations of education and extensive related experience will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of site construction practices, contract administration, cost controls, and scheduling.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local inspection, permitting, and approval processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical specifications.
- Strong communications, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
