This position is located in Honolulu, HI, USA
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Estimator to analyze blueprints, specifications, and project plans to develop accurate cost estimates. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed bids, budgets, and proposals while working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and profitable pricing. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and experience in construction cost estimation.
Responsibilities- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Develop accurate project budgets and bid proposals based on scope and market conditions.
- Analyze historical data, subcontractor quotes, and material costs to optimize pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to refine cost estimates.
- Identify and assess potential project risks and adjust estimates accordingly.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
- Track cost trends, market fluctuations, and industry standards to improve estimate accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and contract specifications.
- Use estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Pro Est, RSMeans, Plan Swift, or Procore) for calculations and proposals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field ().
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and best practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers and contractors.
- Ability to handle multiple bids and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in bidding government, public, or private sector projects.
- Familiarity with cost databases, industry benchmarks, and construction scheduling.
- Certification as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credential ().
- Salary dependent on experience
