Safety Manager

Our client is a repiping and mechanical infrastructure solutions company. They complete large-scale occupied renovation projects for apartment and condominium communities, ensuring residents can remain in their homes throughout construction.
They are seeking a Safety Manager to lead all safety initiatives across Hawaii operations while developing and implementing state-specific safety programs and ensuring compliance with OSHA and Hawaii regulations.
Responsibilities:- Lead, develop, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures across Hawaii operations
- Develop and deliver construction safety training programs for field employees, supervisors, and managers
- Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and risk assessments across multiple project sites
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Hawaii OSHA (HIOSH), state, and local construction safety regulations while maintaining required documentation
- Partner with the corporate safety team to align Hawaii safety initiatives with company-wide standards
- Analyze safety metrics and trends to improve safety performance and regulatory compliance
- Recommend process improvements, equipment enhancements, and safety initiatives that improve operational performance
- Implement technology and AI-driven safety tools to improve reporting, compliance, and jobsite safety
- Collaborate with operations, human resources, and support teams to achieve organizational objectives
- Support long-term planning and development of Hawaii safety operations
- Manage assigned budgets, including travel and overhead expenses
- Evaluate vendor proposals and manage related costs
- Serve as the primary safety resource for field employees and management
- Travel throughout Oahu using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- 5+ years of construction safety experience in Hawaii supporting multiple jobsites and multiple construction trades including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire and life safety systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, tile, excavation and trenching, asphalt and concrete, hoisting and rigging, and related trades
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing construction safety programs and policies
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action planning
- Experience delivering safety training for construction field personnel
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, Hawaii OSHA (HIOSH), and Hawaii-specific construction safety regulations
- Knowledge of statewide and local construction compliance and infrastructure safety requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 25- 50 lbs., regularly walk, and regularly climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to travel approximately 30% using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Ability to work 45- 50 hours/week, with 1 day/week remote after established
- Base salary in the 125k - 150k/year range
- Bonus potential 10% - 20%
