As an Assistant Operations Manager at Sage Water, you will play a key supporting role in keeping our operations running smoothly across multiple active projects. This is an entry-to-early-career position ideal for candidates with 1-2 years of experience who are eager to grow in a fast-paced, field-adjacent environment. You will work closely with senior management, project managers, and field crews to coordinate daily workflows, track project progress, and ensure our teams have what they need to succeed.
The Assistant Operations Manager position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to communicate clearly across teams. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting directly to the Division Management team.

- Knowledge of RFIs and submittal packages for construction
- Ability to read and decipher a set of construction plans
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day operations across multiple active projects, helping ensure workflows stay on schedule
- Create and assist in coordinating with the engineer/CM on submittal packages for jobs
- Assist in coordinating schedules, resource allocation, and task prioritization across teams
- Attend and run project meetings in person or via Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms, take notes, track action items, and follow up on deliverables
- Help prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for leadership review
- Create, log, and distribute project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and drawing updates
- Liaise between field staff, subcontractors, and office teams to communicate updates and resolve minor issues
- Review construction drawings to identify scope of work, layout, and any constructability issues.
- Review contracts/scopes and verify that fieldwork aligns with our contractual responsibilities.
- Support the review and processing of vendor and subcontractor pay applications
- Assist in monitoring crew and subcontractor compliance with company safety standards
- Help ensure materials and tools are ordered, tracked, and available on-site as needed
- Support payroll review processes and flag discrepancies for manager approval
- Maintain organized project files and documentation in company systems
- Build positive working relationships with field crews, trade partners, and internal staff
- Support client communications in a professional and timely manner
- Background in actual construction, with hands-on experience on a construction site or project
- Knowledge of RFIs and submittal packages for construction
- Ability to read and decipher a set of construction plans
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 1-2 years of construction experience in an operations, project coordination, or related role (internships and co-ops count)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Project)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take direction and contribute to team goals
- Must be 18+ years old, authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with construction, facilities, or trade services environments is a plus
- Exposure to project management software is a plus
Salary: $90,000 per year
