Full job description
This is an office based, full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Tacoma Sales Manager. The role is focused on customer support, taking orders in the selling tool and SAP, and interacting daily with sales and potential customers. It collaborates with a team of sales professionals and serves as a single point of contact for assigned customers and sellers. The position offers opportunities for growth in system improvements, customer product needs, and manufacturing impacts.
Accountabilities- Enters orders or assists individual sellers in order file management by ensuring orders are received, priced accurately, shipped and invoiced in an accurate and timely manner using sales tools/SAP effectively.
- Acts as point of contact for customers, takes ownership of interactions, addresses order status and product information inquiries from customers via phone and email.
- Troubleshoots basic customer issues, escalates situations as needed, and learns from order errors or mistakes.
- Accurately submits information for new customer requests through the SAP transaction (MDG).
- Develops knowledge of customers, company procedures, products, and services to gain competency in these areas.
- Works closely with a specific customer base to build rapport and understand their business.
- Collaborates to build strong relationships with peers, coworkers, internal/external customers, and broader team members and resources.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including written and verbal (face to face and over the phone).
- Proven ability to work in Office, Excel, Word, and Web‑based programs with technical proficiency to learn and effectively use customer services tools/enterprise systems (i.e., SAP).
- Demonstrated interest and willingness to gain basic knowledge of products, pricing and customers.
- Demonstrated effective time management skills to remain focused on priorities and organized while working with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally and collaborate within a team environment.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
- Minimum HS Diploma/GED.
- 3+ years experience in building materials distribution sales.
This role is eligible for our annual merit‑increase program, with a salary range of $48,200 – $72,200 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

RetirementEmployees are able to enroll in our company’s 401(k) plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or VacationEligible employees who work 25 hours or more per week receive 3 weeks of paid vacation during the first year of employment. After six months of service, eligible employees accrue additional vacation. Eleven paid holidays per year provide a total of 88 holiday hours.
