AHL provides services for projects in all market sectors including high‑rise residential, commercial mixed‑use, healthcare, education, hospitality, retail, industrial, institutional, and military.
AHL’s office in downtown Honolulu is seeking a Project Manager with Department of Defense (DoD) experience to join our highly creative and collaborative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for management, team, and consultant coordination, and oversight of production and design of Department of Defense (DoD) and non‑DoD projects.
Education & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university (preferred).
- Educational background and/or coursework in Architecture, Project Management, or Construction Management (required).
- Minimum of ten (10) years of substantial experience in all phases of architecture, including five (5) years of substantial project management experience on DoD projects.
- Architectural registration preferred; non‑licensed and soon‑to‑be licensed individuals will also be considered.
- Substantial knowledge of DoD procedures for design, project management, and production of design development and construction phase documents.
- Thorough knowledge of architectural planning, detailing, drafting, construction materials and methods.
- Working knowledge of related engineering principles and building codes.
- Proficiency in CAD, Revit and/or 3‑D software program, Microsoft Office Suite, and general project scheduling software.
- Manage direction, coordination, and production of DoD projects including non‑DoD work as office workloads may change.
- Provide project management from design through construction documents.
- Coordinate design of the project with both outside consultants and in‑house project teams.
- Manage the preparation of design drawings by other designers.
- With Project Architect, review documents for code compliance.
- Oversee overall project finances, including preparing/reviewing invoices for base project fees and additional services.
- Regularly review the project budget and track internal performance.
- Act as a project architect in the absence of this position.
Salary Range: $92,000 to $114,000
