Adjunct - Cybersecurity (Hawaii Pacific University)

HPU Downtown Campus, Honolulu. Job Type: Faculty - Adjunct Faculty. Remote Employment available.

Job Summary

Serves as an academic professional, delivering courses in the area of cybersecurity. Provides service to and on behalf of the University. Plans and supervises semester activities that meet course objectives, maintains records on and evaluate student performance, assign grade.

Compensation

$1,150 per credit hour for Doctorate candidates. $1,050 per credit hour for Masters candidates.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
  • Desired

    Qualifications:

    Ph.D. in Cybersecurity or related field. Experience teaching university students in a diverse environment. Resident on Oahu for Face‑to‑Face instruction preferred but remote instructors eligible to apply.

    Qualifications:

    Legally authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship. Work obligations may require work during HPU's winter break or emergencies. Must meet training/background check and Protection of Minors policy. Reliable personal transportation with valid driver's license. Able to teach classes scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. Able to teach classes at multiple locations on Oahu. Must have excellent time and stress management skills.
Key Responsibilities /Essential Job Functions
  • Teaching Responsibility (95%)
  • Develop a syllabus that includes course activities that meet the requirements of the course, establish appropriate student learning outcomes and provides for appropriate class activities throughout the term.
  • Plan and deliver individual class sessions that conform to the syllabus and other requirements of the University.
  • Maintain records on student participation and performance and assign course grades in a timely manner.
  • Integrate in-depth knowledge of content area, teaching, and learning into instructional practice.
  • Incorporate appropriate performance assessments into coursework.
  • Understand assessment technology, and use multiple forms of assessments in determining effectiveness.
