Aloha mai! Mahalo for your interest in Kamehameha Schools. We are seeking a Geometry Teacher to join our Kapalama Campus High School team.

• Demonstrate academic competence in the geometry subject area and contribute to interdisciplinary work across the curriculum.
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning, teaching practice, and professional development.
• Be accountable for learner outcomes, advocate for students, work efficiently, and support the belief in the ability of students and self to succeed.
• Facilitate problem-solving with data-driven curriculum and practice; encourage curious minds and critical thinking.
• Serve as a role model and engage in innovative instructional practices and pedagogy; collaborate with stakeholders to improve student performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to extend learning beyond the classroom and contribute to global and local community impact.
• Prioritize learners’ well-being, safety, social-emotional learning, and the development of the “whole child.”
• Design and facilitate differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities aligned to instructional goals and engaging high-level cognitive activity.

• Bachelor’s degree (degrees and course credits earned from a nationally or internationally accredited college or university).

• Bachelor’s degree in a primary instructional area;
  Master’s or doctoral degrees in the primary instructional area.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate instructional strategies (e.g., differentiated instruction, project-based learning, personalized learning).
• Ability to utilize or develop current technology applications for classroom use.
• Recent teaching experience or coursework in the primary area of instruction.
• 5+ years of instruction in primary area(s).
• Experience in athletics, performing arts, coaching or supporting clubs; music and fine arts appreciation; knowledge of social justice issues, global issues, sustainability, Hawaiian language, history, culture, and Christian values.

• Thorough knowledge of geometry and ability to develop interdisciplinary curriculum.
• Instructional methods appropriate for the assigned grade level.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and families; support student goals.
• Ability to differentiate and personalize instruction; manage groups of varying sizes.
• Strong communication with students, parents, counselors, and administrators; ability to work collaboratively.
• Time management and task organization to meet deadlines.

• N/A. Teaching credentials appropriate for the level of students being taught are preferred.

• Classroom movement, desk-based tasks, use of technology; lift up to 20 pounds; ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach as needed.

• Work is conducted in a classroom environment; may require non-standard environments. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday during school hours; evening/weekend hours may be required. Travel for staff or curriculum development may occur.
