Appointment to begin as soon as possible. Renewal of appointment dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs and availability of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide technical and instructional design support for online courses and other instructional content. This may involve but is not limited to:
- Maintaining regular meetings with collaborating instructors
- Collaborating and consulting with faculty to develop effective online courses
- Working within an online learning management system (e.g. Lamaku) to organize instructor-created content into an online course aimed at effective and positive learning experiences
- Managing progress of course and materials design to ensure timely delivery of content
- Edit content in various formats including text, audio, video, and multimedia depending on clients’ requests when producing or revising course content.
- In collaboration with other team members, produce training resources, such as guides, tutorials, and workshops on useful pedagogical strategies and technologies.
- Collaborate with team members to develop templates for online credit and non-credit courses.
- Explore, experiment, and report on emerging best practices for pedagogy, content design, and student engagement in online and hybrid courses.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare and present workshops that address faculty needs related to online learning and instruction.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BA/BS degree from an accredited 4-year institution and a classified graduate student at UH Manoa
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and excel in a self-directed learning environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills
- Course work or experience with instructional design
- Demonstrated interest and experience with Wordpress, Press books, H5P, Brightspace/Lamaku LMS, or other publishing, learning, and open-source technologies
- Experience consulting with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop instructional materials
- Experience designing and developing learning activities
- Education or experience with accessibility or universal design
- Familiarity with Open Educational Resources (OER)
