Conditions:
For placement in the lecture pool for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds. Day and/or evening classes.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate American Studies courses in Museum Studies
2. Other related duties, including preparing course syllabus, grading, and maintaining weekly office hours
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree in American Studies (or applicable field)
2. Knowledge in field of Museum Studies or museum work/practices
Desirable Qualifications
1. PhD in American Studies (or related field) or doctoral work in American Studies (or related field)
2. Prior relevant university teaching experience in the field.
3. Training in and/or experience with online teaching
4. Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: decolonization/ indigenization in museums, digital technologies, diversity and inclusion initiatives, history of museums, museum ethics, museum organizations (local, national, international), museum theory and practice, NAGPRA, positions within museums/galleries (archivist, curator, collections manager, conservator, digital assets manager, director, educator, exhibit designer, grants manager/writer, registrar, repatriation, preservation specialist)
