Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide ongoing, site-based, and responsive coaching and technical assistance (TA) to after school and summer programs participating in the Hawai'i After school Alliance (HAA) Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) system that may be held before and after normal working hours and/or on weekends and at some offsite locations.

* Support programs in interpreting and implementing the Hawai'i Out-of-School Time (OST) After school and Summer Programs Quality Guidelines and in developing and carrying out their CQI Action Plans (Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle).

* Conduct regular site visits statewide to observe program implementation, provide tailored coaching, and collaborate with staff to strengthen instructional practice, youth engagement strategies, safety protocols, and overall program quality.

* Assist programs in collecting, analyzing, and using data from self-assessments, observations, and feedback to improve program practices and outcomes.

* Document coaching and TA activities, maintain records of contact, prepare summaries of progress, and contribute to quarterly and annual reports.

* Collaborate with the rest of the HAA team to align coaching activities with statewide professional development (PD), including webinars, statewide conferences, workshops, and training series.

* Coordinate and deliver professional development opportunities-both in-person and virtual-in collaboration with programs, schools, and partners, which may include travel to various locations and working outside normal business hours.

* Facilitate collaborative meetings with stakeholders such as State of Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE), State of Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS), Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH), educators, program leaders, policymakers, funders, and community partners to support alignment of quality standards and shared initiatives.

* Support coordinated advocacy efforts and engagement with policymakers to strengthen access to after school and summer programs.

* Assist in planning and supporting HAA's statewide conference, including agenda development, logistics, outreach, and coordination with partners.

* Establish and maintain systems to track project outcomes and analyze impact.

* Develop reports to communicate progress and successes to funders, partners, and stakeholders.

* Participate in meetings with HAA staff and external partners to align strategies and share emerging needs.

* Assist in designing coaching tools, resources, and templates that support programs in quality improvement.

* Contribute to evaluation efforts by compiling and synthesizing data gathered through coaching and TA.

* Support development and delivery of PD as needed (e.g., facilitation, presenting, small-group coaching).

* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Development, Psychology, Public Health or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for coaching, training, or technical assistance to youth programs or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

* Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of positive youth development and/or after school program quality improvement as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
