2026 Tutors offer academic support to currently enrolled UW‑Parkside students who are in need of assistance with understanding and learning course concepts and subjects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the area in which s/he desires to tutor, and must be able to convey that knowledge via spoken and written word. The tutor provides support and guidance tailored to each student’s needs.
- Tutor students in specific course material and/or skill areas, integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning.
- Make appropriate referrals to other campus resources.
- Follow all procedures and policies set by the Parkside Academic Resource Center.
- Report immediately to the PARC Manager when critical issue(s) arise.
- Attend and participate in Tutor meetings as scheduled.
- Work 5 – 20 hours per week.
Position is located in the Parkside Academic Resource Center (PARC). Compensation is $12 per hour.
Required Qualifications- Completed one semester of college level coursework.
- Enrolled for credit at UW‑Parkside.
- Suggested cumulative GPA of at least a 2.8; priority consideration given to those with a 3.0 GPA.
- Received an A or B in course/s you wish to tutor.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Service as a role model.
- A desire to help others learn.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Friendly and approachable.
