Role Overview

Special Program:
Alternative Learning Programs, Supports and Services (ALPSS) – Multi-Disciplinary. Provide personalized, rigorous, high‑impact, and standards‑based instruction for secondary students (grades 6 to
8) using evidence‑based experiential and project‑based methodologies to meet course and promotion requirements.

• Lead the development of multidisciplinary curricula that prioritize academic standards, social‑emotional growth, post‑secondary readiness, and active community and parent collaboration.
• Ensure curricula meet the needs of all students participating in the program.
• Implement Accountability, Impact and Monitoring (AIM) activities.
• Deliver instruction outside of the traditional classroom setting as required.

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum).
• Valid Hawaii teaching license or emergency hire permit; if hired without a teacher's education program, must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within 3 years.
