Salary: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
Shift: Monday‑Friday, 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. (annual schedule)
Job OverviewThe Extended Day Program Coordinator supports the daily operations of PK‑8 extended‑day and summer enrichment programs, ensuring alignment with LJA policies and the IB Learner Profile. The role involves supervising students, managing schedules, and coordinating with staff, parents, and the Auxiliary Team.
General Responsibilities- Manage and supervise student care from 2:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Implement positive behavior management, student engagement, and structured routines for PK‑8 students after school.
- Assist with meetings, orientations, ongoing training, and new‑hire onboarding for extended‑day staff.
- Communicate daily with the Auxiliary team, Supervisor, and Extended‑Day team.
- Check and respond to emails daily.
- Assist with DHS compliance documentation, track training hours, and manage digital registration forums.
- Support playground and classroom activities after school as needed.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures detailed in the Employee Handbook.
- Required:
2 years of college coursework. - Required:
Valid preschool/ECE certification (must be obtained within one year of employment). - Preferred:
Associate’s degree in early childhood education or family studies. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree with 6 credits in early childhood education (or willingness to obtain within one year).
- Required:
6‑12 months of experience working with children in a school setting. - Required:
6‑12 months of experience developing and implementing activities for students. - Required:
Ability to efficiently manage attendance records, spreadsheets, email communication, and digital documentation systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Support positive student behavior and classroom routines.
- Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments.
- Patience and enthusiasm for young learners.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and appreciation for diversity.
- Professional demeanor, reliability, and initiative.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, email communication, and digital record keeping.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
