Job Summary
The incumbent Adjunct supporting the College of Business will be expected to provide classroom instruction in a variety of business disciplines, including but not limited to:
Accounting, Construction Management, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, International Business, Management and Marketing;
Develop a syllabus and assignments that meet course objectives; conference with students, maintain records on and evaluate student performance.
Open to on-site (Honolulu, HI) and remote applicants.
Compensation$1,150 per credit - Doctorate candidates
$1,050 per credit - Masters candidates
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in business or a closely related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven successful college-level teaching experience.
- Proficiency in relevant areas of business expertise.
- A graduate degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of professional experience in relevant business disciplines (e.g., industry, consulting, or government).
- Successful college-level teaching experience, ideally at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Professional certifications related to the discipline (e.g., CPA for Accounting, CFA for Finance, PMP for Management).
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods, including online and hybrid course delivery.
- Ability to integrate real-world business scenarios and case studies into the classroom to enhance student learning.
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
- Evidence of continued professional development in the field (e.g., research, publications, participation in industry associations).
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position.
- Report to work obligations to support the department, which may require work during HPU’s winter break, if necessary.
- Must meet training and background check qualifications.
- Able to teach classes scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends.
- Able to teach classes at multiple locations on Oahu.
- Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that requires excellent time and stress management skills.
