• Exhibit a love of science in all its forms and strongly believe that all students can, and should, enjoy a hands‑on college‑preparatory curriculum which includes project‑based instruction
• Thorough experience with the Next Generation Science Standards and knowledge of effective differentiation and customization practices to support teaching students from diverse backgrounds, including learning differences
• Show interest in continuing professional development in science education
• Enjoy working with students and colleagues in collaborative settings

• Education:
  
  Ed or equivalent (four‑year degree). Minimum of 3‑5 years of teaching experience in grades 6‑8 in public, charter, parochial, or independent schools

The employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. The teacher must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods. May need to climb stairs and lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to respond effectively to, and lead the class in, emergency situations.

Work is usually performed in a classroom setting within the time frame established by the Middle Level Dean. Employee is occasionally required to attend evening meetings and may oversee field trips and other special events.

Exercises working supervision over students, educational assistants, and volunteers, as necessary.

4‑year degree.
