$22.00 - $28.50 / Hourly
PROGRAM PREPARATION:School Year After School Program
Program preparations are scheduled for mid July 2026, with applicant onboarding to begin early July.
HOURS/AVAILABILITY:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 2 - 5:30pm
Wednesday 1:15 - 5:30pm
Weekends and holidays as needed, and travel locally to various sites/branches.
POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Site Coordinator is responsible for designing, directing, and supporting the development and operations of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21
CCLC) programs at Pauoa Elementary School, including after school and summer initiatives funded through the 21
CCLC grant. This role ensures that programming meets both YMCA standards and HIDOE requirements by delivering high-quality academic support, enrichment opportunities, and family engagement.
The Site Coordinator serves as the on-site supervisor and plays a critical role in fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students, while managing staff, coordinating with school personnel, and building relationships with community partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
- Manage day-to-day operations of after school, summer, and youth/teen development programs in alignment with YMCA policies, procedures, and goals.
- Supervise, coach, and support program staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality, age-appropriate programming in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
- Plan and deliver diverse, engaging programs and activities, including academic tutoring, enrichment opportunities, service-learning projects, physical activities, and youth-led initiatives.
- Create a positive and professional environment that encourages effective communication, teamwork, and a sense of community among staff and participants.
- Maintain accurate program records, staff documentation, and participant files in compliance with grant requirements and internal procedures.
- Regularly evaluate program quality and staff performance, providing feedback and implementing improvements as needed.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active during program hours.
Site Coordinator I ($22.00):
- Minimum of 20 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in youth/teen programs or after school environments.
- Proven ability to lead a diverse team and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of teen development and group facilitation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and general office software.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (can be obtained upon hire).
- All of Site Coordinator I requirements, plus.
- Associate's degree (or higher) in education, social services, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in youth/teen programs or after school environments required.
- Minimum 6 months of supervisory experience required.
- Bus Driver Certification.
The YMCA requires all staff to share responsibility for preventing child abuse by upholding professional boundaries, completing mandatory Praesidium training, and reporting concerns. All candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including criminal and sex offender checks.

CCLC positions are dependent on the availability of funds and continuation of the 21
CCLC contract. The current contract provides programming for the following three school years , , and ) with the possibility of extension for an additional two years and ).
