Koloa Elementary: Grade K-5 Teacher

Teachers at Koloa Elementary are required to participate in weekly Structured Teacher Planning Time (STPTs) and contribute to collaborative data‑driven discussions centered around student learning.

The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers in every classroom. With the exception of designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions, the minimum qualification to apply for a teacher, librarian or counselor position is a bachelor's degree.

• If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within three years of hire.
• You must enroll in a program that aligns with the teaching line you are hired in and demonstrate active pursuit of Hawaii licensing requirements each year of employment, as set forth by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB).
• Upon hire you will need to have a valid Hawaii teaching license or an Emergency Hire Permit.
