Other Conditions:
General funds. Appointment expected to begin August 2026 or soon thereafter. Renewal contingent upon project needs, availability of funds, and satisfactory work performance. Selectee is required to complete the COE New Faculty orientation in the first year, Title IX training, and pass the criminal background check.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach undergrad and graduate level courses via on campus and/or distance and hybrid delivery methods.
  • Serve as Research Program Coordinator of the Hawaii Concussion Awareness, Management, and Education Program (HCAMP).
  • Working with the HCAMP Director, assist with administering and carrying out HCAMP’s concussion-based research projects; tasks include compliance, post-award management, data sharing agreements, subject recruitment, generating reports, etc.
  • Disseminate HCAMP research results through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or similar outputs (e.g., social media, etc).
  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff in drafting and submitting competitive research grant proposals to federal, private, and industry funding opportunities.
  • Assist with coordinating and staffing HCAMP events & community outreach.
  • Provide service to the university, public schools, and professional community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science or related field.
  • Collaborative research experience in TBI, concussion, and related areas.
  • Track history of successful external funding.
  • Track history of successful research dissemination through peer-reviewed publications & conference presentations.
  • Experience with developing and teaching in-person and online courses related to concussion and TBI.
  • Experience working with public and private high school athletic directors, youth sports program directors, and recreational programs directors statewide in concussion, TBI and related conditions.
  • Experience with developing professional development education for educators, administrators, school nurses and/or special service providers.
  • Experience with public event planning and outreach with stakeholders.
  • Accuracy, alertness, and adaptability.
  • Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Post-doctoral training experience in concussion or related area(s).
  • Experience with conducting research supported through federal funding (e.g., NIH, NSF).
  • Experience in managing and treating individuals with TBI and/or concussion.
