The Director of Extended School Programs is responsible for organizing, staffing, and overseeing after-school, summer school, recess care, and athletic programs. This role provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of curriculum, assessment, and instructional programs to ensure they meet the needs of HMS students.
Program Operations:
Create schedules and lists of classes offered, submitting them to the Head of School for approval. Promote and monitor enrollment in extended school programs.
Personnel Management:
Recruit necessary help, interview applicants, and submit prospective hires to the Head of School for approval. Monitor and evaluate the performance of personnel and programs. Together with the Head of School, create pay scales for teachers, aides, and helpers.
Curriculum & Development:
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction for extended programs. Support teaching staff with curriculum implementation and promote the application of technology in all curriculum areas. Guide the development, implementation, and evaluation of orientation and in-service training for extended staff.
Financial Oversight:
Prepare a budget for the programs and submit it to the Head of School and the Financial Committee.
Leadership:
Provide leadership to the Athletic Director.
Administration:
Maintain records of meetings, decisions, and generated materials. Perform other curriculum-related tasks as assigned by the Head of School.
Pay commensurate with qualifications.(range: $60,000 - $70,000)
Must be able to embrace and support the philosophical educational vision, mission, and goals of Hongwanji Mission School.
Ability to guide administrative, teaching, and support staff teams.
Experienced with various school based technology
