Fall 2026, part-time, for lecturer candidate pool, non-tenurial, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and actual staffing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Teach assigned courses in the discipline.

* Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.

* Provide instruction and guidance to meet student learning objectives, prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.

* Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.

* Student and peer evaluations and self-assessment of teaching effectiveness are required.

* Commitment to community college principles and philosophy is essential.

* Must be available for evening and weekend teaching assignments, teaching on campus, off-campus at military bases, secondary education sites (high schools) and/or distance learning assignments for courses taught via the internet. This is not a remote position. For some teaching fields, openings may only be available for classes offered on military bases or taught via the Internet. To teach on a military base, Department of Defense security clearance will be required.

To teach Early College courses for DOE schools, background checks will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

* Unless a related field is listed, the degree must be in the subject area. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.

* Master's degree in Asian Studies.

Desirable Qualifications

* Teaching experience at the community college level.

* Demonstrated ability to work with community college students.

* Work experience related to course to be taught.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

* Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.

* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations

* Experience in the use of technology to support instruction and student success, including but not limited to LMS, CRM, Early Alert and presentation software.

* A willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.
