Founded in 1863 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, ‘Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi enrolling approximately 2,200 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.

The Assessment Specialist supports student learning and social and emotional health by completing psychological/psychosocial evaluations. Evaluations are individualized to meet the referral concern, and written to better understand the student and advocate for their needs. Typically, evaluations include cognitive and achievement measures, as well as behavior rating and emotional functioning scales.

• Complete 30 student evaluations per year (July 1-June 30) in a professional and timely manner.
  • Reports must meet College Board requirements for requesting accommodations, if applicable.
  • Reports describe individual test results and also integrate various sources of data, which may include interviews, records review, and standardized test results.
  • Reports identify specific recommendations based on the evaluation data.
• Consult with school personnel as needed to support student learning and mental health.
• Work closely with the Director of the Academic Resource Center and DEI Coordinator to support individual students and identify areas of professional development.

• Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited school.
• Licensed psychologist in the State of Hawaiʻi .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience administering and interpreting cognitive, achievement, behavior rating and personality tests with students grades K-12.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, descriptive, integrated assessment reports.
• Clear understanding of DSM-5 diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
• Familiarity with the College Board and ACT accommodations process.

• Experience working in an independent school setting.
• Experience with neuropsychological assessment.

• Ability to see and hear within normal parameters with or without correction .
• Full range of head, neck, and back movement; unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrists.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without difficulty.
• Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for sustained periods of time.
• Must successfully pass fingerprint background check and provide TB clearance due to working in proximity to children.
