Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Renewal of appointment is dependent on performance, program needs and/or availability of funds. Casual Hire positions are 89-day temporary appointments that do not have any benefits associated with them.
Duties and Responsibilities- Process advising-related paperwork for CNS Students
- Provide scheduled academic advising and registration support for an assigned College of Natural Sciences student population
- Support CNS SASC office functions, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, responding to email, and answering phone inquiries
- Provide drop-in academic advising and registration support for CNS Students
- Support coordination of CNS SASC events and workshops
- Other duties as assigned
