Placement into the lecturer pool beginning Fall 2026; subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements
- Teach Social Sciences courses in Sustainability
- Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress
- Assess student learning in terms of student and program learning outcomes
- Submit self‑assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations
- Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area
- Maintain one office hour per week for each course taught
- Classes may be offered online, daytime, evenings, and/or weekends
- Master’s degree in Sustainability Science Management or Sustainability Science
- Master’s degree in a sustainability‑related field
* AND two (2) years of teaching experience in sustainability at the post‑secondary level - Master’s degree in a sustainability‑related field*, and 18 graduate‑level credits in Sustainability Science Management or Sustainability Science or sustainability‑focused coursework
Note:
Related fields include:
Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Conservation Biology, Geography (with sustainability emphasis), Public Policy (with environmental/sustainability emphasis), or other interdisciplinary programs where sustainability‑related subject matter was a primary focus of the program, as demonstrated by required coursework, program learning outcomes, or degree requirements.
- Teaching experience at the community college level
- Demonstrated ability to work with community college students
- Work experience related to the course to be taught
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively
- Familiarity with competency‑ and outcomes‑based instruction
