Duties and Responsibilities

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas of social work:

Social work practice with individuals, groups, and/or communities and organizations

Social welfare policy

Research

Human behavior and the social environment

Children and families

Mental health

Health

Gerontology

Substance abuse

Social work history

General social work practice

Minimum Qualifications

To teach non-practice classes:
Master's degree in social work or related field from an accredited school or university

To teach practice classes:
Master's degree in social work from an accredited school or university plus two years of post-master's practice experience in social work

Desirable Qualifications

Teaching experience at the college level in one or more of the areas stated above

At least two years of post-MSW social work related experience

Work experience related to the area of teaching interest

Ability or interest in teaching online courses

Familiarity with multicultural issues in service provision
