Student Worker, Apo Haumāna
The Apo Haumāna student worker will assist with the planning and implementation of the Apo Haumāna Program for first year students. The student worker will be responsible for helping to create the curriculum for the First Year Student Retreat and workshops for Apo Haumāna participants throughout the academic year and serve as a peer mentor/resource to the first year students. The student worker will also assist with logistics for the retreat and workshops.
The work week will consist of 8-10 hours with 19 hours the maximum from Monday through Friday with holidays being the exception. Some evenings and weekends are necessary for programs or events.
Programming
- Assist in the design and implementation of OSS programming including the First Year Student retreat and workshops and events
- Market and advertise the Apo Haumāna program and related events
- Serve as a facilitator/presenter at the retreat, workshops and events.
- Serve as a peer mentor/resource to first year students in the program
Operations
- Provide administrative support (copying, filing, scanning, etc.)
- Complete other administrative duties or special projects as assigned

Minimum
- Current and fulltime status with Chaminade University
Preferred
- Student should maintain a current GPA of at least (2.5)
- Previous Apo Haumāna participant
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to meet deadlines
Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality
High integrity and ethical standards
Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule.
Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner.
