For placement in department adjunct lecturer pool for Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024. Mainly part-time employment, contingent on approval to fill, course offerings, position clearance, availability of funds, and sufficient enrollment. Appointments offered on a semester basis. Duties and Responsibilities To teach basic language skill courses in the target language.
Minimum Qualifications B.A. degree in American Sign Language, Sign Language Teaching, Deaf Studies, Sign Language Interpreting, Linguistics, Education, or a related field and 3 years of experience in Teaching ASL at the university level or M.A. degree in American Sign Language, Sign Language Teaching, Deaf Studies, Sign Linguistics or a related field preferred. Native or near-native proficiency in ASL.
Desirable Qualifications 5 years or more of experience teaching ASL at the university level.
