Peer Tutor And Academic Coach

Tutoring and Academic Coaching Services Coordinator
Indirect Report:
Career Pathway and Success Coach
Provide one-on-one or group tutoring and academic coaching sessions by appointment, either in person or online.
Support students with course content, study strategies, SMART goals, and academic planning.
Assist students with resumes and cover letters as needed.
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
Arrive on time and be prepared for all scheduled sessions.
Maintain accurate records of each session, including notes and attendance.
Check email regularly for appointment notifications and communications; all appointments are booked through Reservio and synced to Google Calendar.
Communicate regularly with the Tutoring and Academic Coaching Services Coordinator and collaborate with fellow Tutors and Academic Coaches to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
Participate in all required training sessions and workshops.
Represent Kōkua ʻIke professionally in both in-person and online settings.

Faculty recommendation
This position may involve light physical activity in both indoor and outdoor settings. Successful candidates should be comfortable alternating between standing and sitting, as well as navigating stairs and sloped walkways. They should also be comfortable lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Strong motor skills and clear, effective communication are essential.
This is a part-time, non-exempt employment position. Successful candidates may work up to 19 hours per week; however, employment is on an as-needed basis. While the center's regular hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding holidays, occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required based on departmental needs. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to a varied schedule are essential.
