For placement in the lecture pool for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds. Day and/or evening classes.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate American Studies courses in Museum Studies
- Other related duties, including preparing course syllabus, grading, and maintaining weekly office hours
- Master's degree in American Studies (or applicable field)
- Knowledge in field of Museum Studies or museum work/practices
- PhD in American Studies (or related field) or doctoral work in American Studies (or related field)
- Prior relevant university teaching experience in the field.
- Training in and/or experience with online teaching
- Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: decolonization/ indigenization in museums, digital technologies, diversity and inclusion initiatives, history of museums, museum ethics, museum organizations (local, national, international), museum theory and practice, NAGPRA, positions within museums/galleries (archivist, curator, collections manager, conservator, digital assets manager, director, educator, exhibit designer, grants manager/writer, registrar, repatriation, preservation specialist)
