Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative, operational, and program support to the Dean and Operations Coordinator, including scheduling, correspondence, data management, office coordination, and special projects.
  • Supports College initiatives through research, program assessment, data collection, and analysis. Prepares reports, presentations, briefing materials, and communications that advance College programs, events, and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinates information related to Pacific-focused programs, partnerships, delegations, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Identifies and tracks opportunities for engagement between the University and organizations, governments, and educational institutions throughout the Pacific region. Develops reports and materials related to priority areas of the College.
  • Assists with hosting visiting dignitaries, scholars, government officials, and delegations, including coordinating meetings, itineraries, and related events that strengthen the College's relationships across Hawai'i and the Pacific.
  • Supports College events, community engagement activities, and public programs.
  • Coordinates student assistants; assists with administrative functions such as fiscal processing, parking, and human resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Classified degree-seeking graduate student in a Masters or Doctoral program (minimum 6 credits) in good academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or above) at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills and a compassionate nature.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills.
  • Familiarity with modern communication tools and technology, with a willingness to assist others in using them.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom and ability to manage multiple projects are essential.
Desirable

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in educational program support and social science research methodologies, including statistics, survey analysis, and qualitative research.
  • Knowledge of Pacific Island nations, Indigenous and Pacific issues, regional organizations, international partnerships, and higher education initiatives across the Pacific.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign or related communications software
  • Ability to adapt, learn new skills, and work effectively in an environment with varying backgrounds.
