Are you a compassionate and skilled professional with a passion for supporting the wellbeing of children and young people? South Coast Baptist College is seeking a dedicated College Counsellor to join our team and make a lasting difference in the lives of our students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Position Requirements- Provide timely counselling support to students and families, addressing spiritual, social, and emotional needs.
- Deliver evidence-based counselling tailored to individual student requirements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and wellbeing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary wellbeing team to ensure holistic support for students.
- Refer students or families to external professional services as required.
- Actively contribute to a positive, safe, and caring school environment.
- Relevant counselling qualifications (minimum requirement).
- Experience providing support to children, adolescents, and families.
- Proven ability to deliver evidence‑based clinical counselling interventions.
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases.
- A heart for serving students within a Christian school setting.
- Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
- Commitment to personal best practice.
- Ensure decisions are impartial, fact‑based, and fair.
- Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- Commitment to maintaining a child‑safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.
- Possession of the following certifications:
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid Certificate
