About the role:Education Assistant - Special Needs
South Coast Baptist College is seeking a dedicated special needs Education Assistant for our secondary school, providing part time support (3 days per week) during Terms 3 and 4, 2024. This role involves assisting students with special needs under the guidance of classroom teachers and school leadership, fostering inclusive learning environments and supporting the educational journey of our secondary students.
- Employment Type: 0.6
FTE (3 Days per week) - Contract Type: Contract till end of Term 4, 2024, with the possibility of extension into 2025.
- Certificate 4 in Education Support (CHC
30812). - Familiarity with diverse teaching and learning strategies.
- Effective communication skills with students and families.
- Commitment to building positive relationships within the school community.
- Understanding of the teacher's role as a role model.
- Adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Creative and engaging teaching style.
- To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- To accept the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Build co‑operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents.
- Work to ensure personal best practice.
- Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair.
- Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Always act in the best interest of the College and its ethos.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- First Aid certificate is desirable.
- Working With Children Card.
