Position Summary

The individual in this position is responsible for the administration, development, and coordination of Mental Health (community-based) student practicum and internship clinical site placements for the School of Applied Psychology. Additional duties include supporting program evaluation & assessment, conducting program interviews, and advising. This is a standard 12‑month appointment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Administer, develop, and coordinate mental health (community-based) student practicum and internship clinical site placements for the School of Applied Psychology
  • Conduct site visits that will require travel (e.g., by car and by plane)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community‑based clinical placement sites
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and performance across practicum and internship placements
  • Ensure compliance with program, accreditation, and licensure requirements related to fieldwork experiences
  • Maintain accurate records of site agreements, student placements, and supervision documentation
  • Support program evaluation & assessment
  • Conduct program interviews
  • Provide advising to program students
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the School of Applied Psychology, students, and clinical site supervisors

  • Provide academic and professional advising to students
  • Collaborate with the Director of the School of Applied Psychology and other faculty on program development
  • Attend meetings and provide service as required for the School, College, and University committees as assigned
  • This is a full‑time, in‑person, and exempt position. Forty hours per week (M‑F) will be the general rule. However, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights, weekends, and a varying schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the College of Education and Human Development, and the Director of the School of Applied Psychology
Education and Experience

Minimum: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling or related field.

Preferred: Mental Health or Professional Counselor license.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must possess high integrity and ethical standards
  • Must have the ability to create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced skills in the use of computer software applications (i.e., Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe)
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to interpret data and prepare reports
  • Knowledge and experience in using common office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with the Gold Star for travel
Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and require a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
